  • New York waives forward Wolyniec

Secaucus, NJ (Sports Network) - Red Bull New York waived forward John Wolyniec on Friday night.

Wolyniec played in four regular season matches, including two starts, for New York this season. He also recorded four goals in four Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup games. Wolyniec is second all-time in regular season games played for New York with 142.

"John is a true professional and a hard working player. We spoke to John about staying on with the club in another capacity but he expressed an interest in continuing on with his playing career.

We wish him the best of luck in the future," said Red Bull New York General Manager and Sporting Director Erik Soler.

New York plays the Houston Dynamo on Saturday night.
