  • Earnhardt Jr. wins Daytona Nationwide race in famous No.3 car

    Daytona Beach, FL (Sports Network) - Dale Earnhardt Jr.

    continued the Earnhardt family tradition of winning at Daytona International Speedway, as he drove his father's famous No.3 Chevrolet into victory lane after taking Friday's Subway Jalapeno 250, which marked the debut race of the new Nationwide Series car.

    Earnhardt Jr.

    led the final 33 laps, and held off Joey Logano in a green- white-checkered finish to claim his sixth Nationwide victory at Daytona and the 23rd of his career. His late-father, Dale Earnhardt, won a record seven Nationwide series races here.

    Logano finished second, while Ricky Stenhouse Jr., a rookie, Brad Keselowski, the pole sitter, and Kevin Harvick completed the top-five.

    Keselowski now holds a 277-point lead over Carl Edwards, who finished 11th.
