  • Sim re-ups with Isles

    Uniondale, NY (Sports Network) - The New York Islanders have agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way contract with forward Jon Sim.

    Sim, 32, appeared in 77 games with the Islanders last season, posting 13 goals and nine assists.

    "Jon brings an unmatched work ethic and veteran leadership to our lineup and we're excited to have him back for the upcoming season," said Islanders general manager Garth Snow.

    The Nova Scotia native has 74 goals and 61 assists in 435 career NHL games. He also has 87 goals and 75 assists in 164 AHL contests.

    Sim was originally taken in the third round (70th overall) by Dallas in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft.
