  • Tseng fends off Hull for Women's British Open title

South Port, England (Sports Network) - Yani Tseng rolled in a five-foot par putt on the final hole Sunday to hold off Katherine Hull and win the Women's British Open by a single stroke.

Tseng managed a one-over 73 in the final round at Royal Birkdale, but it was enough for her third major championship title and fourth win in all. She finished at 11-under-par 277.

The 21-year-old become the youngest golfer -- male or female -- in the modern era with three major championship titles. She also won the 2008 LPGA Championship and earlier this season claimed the Kraft Nabisco Championship.

Hull, who was looking for her first major championship title, closed with a two-under 70 to take second at minus-10.

Na Yeon Choi (68) and In-Kyung Kim (71) shared third place at seven-under-par 281.

Cristie Kerr closed with a two-under 70 to end in a tie for fifth at minus-six. She ended alongside Amy Yang (68) and Hee Kyung Seo (70).
