  • Fisher holds off Harrington to win Irish Open

    Killarney, Ireland (Sports Network) - Ross Fisher fended off a strong charge by Padraig Harrington on Sunday to win the Irish Open.

    Fisher closed with a six-under 65 to claim a two-stroke victory. He ended his fourth European Tour victory at 18-under-par 266.

    Harrington did his scoring in bunches on Sunday. His second and third scoring bursts gave him a share of the lead, but he could not grab the out-right lead by himself.

    The Irishman fired a seven-under 64 to take second place at minus-16 at Killarney Golf & Fishing Club .

    Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano (67) and Chris Wood (68) share third place at 14- under-par 270.
