  • Jags rookie DT Smith may miss season

    Jacksonville, FL (Sports Network) - Jacksonville Jaguars rookie defensive tackle D'Anthony Smith may miss the entire 2010 season after suffering an injury to his right Achilles' tendon.

    According to The Florida Times-Union, Smith, the team's third-round pick this year, will have to undergo surgery to repair the injury and is out indefinitely.

    A two-time First-Team All-WAC selection, Smith finished his collegiate career at Louisiana Tech with 23 1/2 tackles for loss and 12 1/2 sacks to go along with 197 tackles in 49 games.

    As a senior last season, Smith notched 51 tackles and 3 1/2 sacks.
