  • Ravens CB Foxworth tears ACL, out for the season

Westminster, MD (Sports Network) - Baltimore Ravens cornerback Dominique Foxworth will apparently miss the upcoming season after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament.

Foxworth limped off the field during orientation practice on Thursday and was absent from Friday's workout, then issued a post via Twitter indicating his status.

"There's nothing worse than letting down ppl you love and I love all the ravens players and fans. I'm very sorry," Foxworth said.

The five-year veteran started all 16 games for Baltimore last season, his first with the club. He totaled 53 tackles and four interceptions along with 16 passes defensed.

A third-round pick of Denver in 2005, Foxworth played his first three seasons with the Broncos then spent 2008 with Atlanta before heading to Baltimore.

Over 76 games in the NFL, including 44 starts, he has amassed 264 tackles, eight interceptions and 51 passes defensed.
