Henderson, Allgood & McIntosh earn Week 12 honors
Courtesy of Arena Football League Tulsa, OK (Sports Network) - Dallas wide receiver KENNY HENDERSON, Tulsa quarterback JUSTIN ALLGOOD and Tampa Bay defensive back ERICK MCINTOSH have been named the JLS Ironman, Russell Athletic Offensive Player and Riddell Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, for Week 11 of 2010. In addition to these three awards, the AFL is also highlighting the player who makes the best catch of the week, the playmaker of the week, and the highlight of the week. The Cutters Catch of the Week Award for Week 11 goes to Spokane wide receiver RAUL VIJIL, while Bossier-Shreveport wide receiver/defensive back P.J. BERRY has been named the Playmaker of the Week. The Highlight of the Week award has gone to Milwaukee's defensive backs ANTHONY IVY, CARLTON BROWN AND TRACY BELTON.
JLS IRONMAN OF THE WEEK Henderson (5-9, 190, Tuskogee) kept Dallas in the game against Tulsa, leading the team in receptions and kickoff returns. The Vigilantes took the lead in the end of the first quarter with an 18-yard pass to Henderson. Henderson would score again in the second quarter, but the highlight of the game would be his kickoff return. After an offensive slump, Henderson returned a 56-yard kickoff, snatching the lead in the fourth quarter. Unfortunately it would not be enough to clinch the win. Henderson ended the game with 10 receptions for a season high 104 yards and seven kickoff returns for 172 yards.
RUSSELL ATHLETIC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK Allgood (6-1, 205, Central Oklahoma), the Texas native, took Tulsa to a road-win against his home state. Allgood completed 25-of-37 passes for eight touchdowns and a season high 384 yards. Three of his touchdowns came in the critical fourth quarter to win 69-51. Tulsa is now 5-2 in conference play, and will play the Spokane Shock for the second straight away game.
RIDDELL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK McIntosh (5-10, 175, Florida Atlantic) came out strong for the Tampa Bay defense, helping to lead the way to their fourth straight win. The recent addition to the Storm's defensive lineup lead the team in tackles with five unassisted and six assisted. McIntosh's shining moment came in the first quarter with an interception that would lead to an offensive touchdown. With two games under his belt, McIntosh is ready to show he is a main contender for this team.
