  New York, NY (Sports Network) - Cappie Pondexter led all scorers with 24 points, as the New York Liberty held on for a 71-67 win over the Connecticut Sun at Madison Square Garden.

  Leilani Mitchell went for 15 points, while Janel McCarville and Plenette Pierson contributed nine apiece for the Liberty, who have won three straight and five of six.

  Asjha Jones had a team-best 18 points and Tina Charles donated 12 points and 10 boards for Connecticut, which has dropped four of its last five. Renee Montgomery had 14 points off the bench in defeat.
