  • Wilson transfers to Marquette

Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - Forward Jamil Wilson has transfered to Marquette after spending his freshman season at Oregon.

He will have to sit out the 2010-11 season due to NCAA transfer rules, but will have three years of eligibilty remaining.

"We are excited that Jamil has decided to be a part of our program," said Golden Eagles head coach Buzz Williams.

"Having the opportunity to get to know Jamil, his family and those important to him during his prep career, helped make this transition smooth for all parties involved. Jamil has an understanding of our culture and I think his potential on and off the floor is extremely high." A consensus top-100 nationally ranked prospect, Wilson averaged 4.7 points and 3.2 rebounds per game last season with Oregon. He started 14 of the 26 games he appeared in.
