  • Clemson, Alabama among teams advancing to Super Regionals

    Fullerton, CA (Sports Network) - Clemson and Alabama were among the teams making it to the NCAA Baseball Super Regionals after winning their decisive contests on Monday.

    The Tigers dumped Auburn, 13-7, to win the Auburn Regional title. Kyle Parker belted a three-run homer for the Tigers, who advanced to the Clemson Super Regional to host Alabama, starting Saturday.

    The Crimson Tide won the Atlanta Regional with a 10-8 triumph over Georgia Tech Monday night. Junior right-hander Nathan Kilcrease threw the final six innings, logging 103 pitches, to get the win.

    Arkansas also made it to the next round with a 7-2 triumph over Washington State to take the Fayetteville Regional. The victory sends Arkansas to Tempe to take on top-ranked Arizona State beginning Saturday.

    Vanderbilt won the Louisville Regional with a dramatic ending.

    Connor Harrell's RBI squeeze bunt base hit in the bottom of the 10th inning lifted the Commodores to a 3-2 win over the Cardinals.

    Vandy advances to the Tallahassee Super Regional to take on Florida State in a best-of-three series starting on Friday.

    Virginia advanced to the Super Regionals for the second consecutive year, beating St. John's, 5-3, in the championship game of the Charlottesville Regional.

    Virginia will play host to Oklahoma in a best-of-three series beginning Saturday.

    Coastal Carolina won the Myrtle Beach Regional with a stunning 11-10 victory in 10 innings over the College of Charleston. Rich Witten drove in four runs and scored the game-winning tally on a wild pitch from Heath Hembree. The Myrtle Beach Super Regional between the number four national seed Chanticleers and South Carolina will start Saturday.

    Cal State Fullerton captured its regional with a 9-5 win over Minnesota. The Titans will face UCLA in the Los Angeles Super Regional.

    There is still one more regional title up for grabs. Monday's game between Miami-Florida and Texas A&M was suspended due to rain in the bottom of the second inning.

    The Hurricanes were ahead 3-2 in the championship contest of the Coral Gables Regional, and the game will resume at 1 p.m. (et) Tuesday. The winner will face Florida in the Gainesville Super Regional.
