Cooper, a senior from Neeses, S.C., had two of the three hits and his lone allowed walk come in the ninth inning while pitching on three days rest. He was replaced by John Taylor with the bases loaded and a double-play groundout scored the lone UCLA run.
Bobby Haney helped back the effort by driving in three runs and Brady Thomas, Evan Marzilli and Whit Merrifield added RBI singles for the Gamecocks, who beat their conference rival Clemson on consecutive days to advance to the finals for the first time since 2002.

Featherston drew a bases loaded walk with two outs in the first to force in the game's first run. The base on balls came one pitch after a foul pop landed in between three players along the right-field line.
TCU pushed its' lead to 2-0 in the second when Pena's blooper to left scored Aaron Schultz, who had led off the inning with a double.

Adrian Morales hit a two-run homer and Scott Wingo knocked in two with a double during an eight-run second inning. Whit Merrifield contributed an RBI single to the big inning and later added a solo home run among a three-hit game. Bradley also finished with three hits, while Wingo also walked and scored twice hitting out of the nine hole.
Dyson got the win for allowing four runs on eight hits while walking two and fanning three for the Gamecocks, who will take on either Clemson or Oklahoma on Thursday in a continuation of bracket play.

UCLA had beaten Florida in its opener on Saturday before taking the win Monday, and plays again Friday, when a win would put the Bruins in the championship series.
They will play either TCU or Florida State, which face off Wednesday in an elimination game.

Tyler Holt chipped in with three hits, two RBI and scored three times for Florida State, which won four of five meetings with the Gators this season. Brian Busch picked up the win after allowing two runs on as many hits with four walks and three strikeouts in a 5 1/3-inning start. FSU will face the loser of Monday's TCU/UCLA game on Wednesday.
Hudson Randall suffered the loss for yielding four runs and four hits with a pair of walks in 2 2/3 innings for Florida, which finished the season 47-17.

Clemson tallied twice in the second inning to take the lead on an infield hit by Spencer Kieboom and a throwing error by Sun Devils shortstop Deven Marrero.
The Tigers then loaded the bases with two outs for two-sport star Kyle Parker, who grounded out to end the threat. He is the only player in NCAA history to throw 20 touchdown passes and hit 20 home runs in a calendar year.

Originally scheduled to start around 2 p.m. (et), inclement weather pushed the start time back over four hours, and the game was halted again in the sixth inning for another two hours. The game didn't finish until after 11 p.m. (et), more than nine hours after the first pitch was scheduled.
Bushyhead drove in a total of two runs in a 2-for-3 effort, and Tyler Ogle also knocked in a run for Oklahoma, which survived the first game of the double-elimination tournament and will play the winner of Arizona State- Clemson, which was originally scheduled for Sunday but was pushed back to Monday morning at 11 a.m. (et).

In the second game of the double-elimination event, UCLA also notched its first CWS win, using the right arm of Trevor Bauer and timely hitting in an 11-3 romp of Florida. The Bruins will next play the Horned Frogs, while the Seminoles and Gators also meet on Monday to see which team stays alive.
TCU starter Matt Purke gave up an unearned run in the top of the first, but the Horned Frogs responded in the bottom of the inning.

Drew Maggi belted a two-run homer in the 12th inning to lift the Sun Devils, the top national seed, to a 7-5 win over Arkansas, sweeping the Tempe Super Regional. The Sun Devils were a strike from winning the game in regulation, but Brett Eibner smacked a solo homer on a 1-2 pitch from Jordan Swagerty in the ninth inning to the game.
The Gamecocks earned their ninth trip to the CWS thanks to a 10-9 win over Coastal Carolina to capture the Myrtle Beach Super Regional in two contests. Christian Walker's two-out, three-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning proved to be the difference for South Carolina.

Florida, which won 7-2 in the opener of this best-of-three set, got two RBI from Brian Johnson to help the school make their sixth trip to the CWS.
The Gators (47-15), are the first team to land a spot in Omaha. They will play the winner of the UCLA-Cal State Fullerton series, which is tied at a game apiece.

The Tigers dumped Auburn, 13-7, to win the Auburn Regional title. Kyle Parker belted a three-run homer for the Tigers, who advanced to the Clemson Super Regional to host Alabama, starting Saturday.
The Crimson Tide won the Atlanta Regional with a 10-8 triumph over Georgia Tech Monday night. Junior right-hander Nathan Kilcrease threw the final six innings, logging 103 pitches, to get the win.

Wittels hit an RBI double in the first inning of a 15-9 loss to Dartmouth Saturday afternoon. The defeat eliminated FIU from the NCAA Coral Gables Regional.
The 56-game streak is two shy of Robin Ventura's all-time Division I record of hitting safely in 58 consecutive games in 1987. Three players in Division I and Major League Baseball have accomplished such a feat, with the third being Hall of Famer Joe DiMaggio who hit in 56 straight games in 1941 with the Yankees.

Esmay took over in December to replace Pat Murphy, who resigned after more than 15 years in the position.
Prior to the 2010 season, Esmay spent the past five seasons as an assistant coach for ASU Baseball, including three as assistant head coach. A former Sun Devil player and assistant coach, Esmay has coached a total of 10 seasons at Arizona State.
